CQA has expertise in the planning of hazardous waste management systems and has developed Integrated Waste Management Plans for both government and industrial clients in several states of the former USSR and the Middle East. CQA has also undertaken projects concerning waste recycling, composting and incineration.
CQA’s remediation experience is extensive and includes planning, design, permitting and implementation of major projects. The company has worked on the remediation of pollution from mercury, hydrocarbons, heavy metals and organic compounds, involving site areas up to 1.5 square kilometres. Techniques that have been designed and supervised include soil washing, in-situ bioremediation, land farming, incorporation into asphalt and a range of water treatment methods. CQA has also carried out phase 1 and 2 surveys of industrial sites and produced remediation plans and strategies.
The geotechnical and mining experience of CQA includes site investigations, surveys, design for earthworks and foundations and assessments of slope stability in rock and soil. CQA has extensive experience of engineering with geosynthetics including containment for waste disposal and mineral processing and soil reinforcement using geotextile and geogrids.
